CUSTOM PROJECTS
Here at Backerton you never know what is gonna come through the door. When people find out you have a leather & fabrication shop they think of all sorts of things for you to build or fix.
We have built things from custom cars, furniture, & shop signs, to pool covers, motorcycle seats, and retail packaging. Pretty much you name it and we have worked on it. There is simply no way we could list all of the crazy unusal projects we have worked on, so we have compiled just a few for you to get an idea.
If you have an idea for a project, feel free to ask we love working on unusual things.
THE BARCELONA'S
This client came to us with 2 original Barcelona chairs, Barcelona chairs sell between $4500-$10,000 depending on condition. These chairs were not in good condition, so she wasnt worried about them retaining thier collector value and asked us to refurbish them and do a color change as well.

VW
The client brought us his Volkswagon for an interior refresh, the car had no back seat and the back hatch space was completly bare metal.
The client requested that we feature diamond plate in the design with flames as the inspiration. We were told that no one would really be riding in the back seat, so he just wanted it to be a focal point of the car. We fabricated and upholstered an entire back seat and fabricated and uphostered the back hatch area.
The front seats were in pretty good shape so we did a couple of panel replacements on the seats and other small repairs.

Custom Projects
TENNIS & PATCHINKO CHAIRS
Sometimes we just get bored and want to do something fun, here are a couple of funs ones, two chairs we fabbed up, one made from a vintage Patchinko machine from Japan and the other one features old tennis rackets as legs and arm rests.
THE CHEVY
We don't JUST do interiors, this client came to us with a fairly nice truck that need some attention, the front fenders/door had a pretty big dent so we...
- Replaced the front fender
- Body work on the door to remove the dent
- Refreshed the entire front of the truck, including, new grill, lights, and painted bumper
- Gave the entire thing a fresh new paint job
- Installed a lowering kit
- Put on some new wheels and tires.
- The interior was actually pretty nice so all we did was fix a few small rips in the seats and gave it a good clean.
(Note: The before photos shows the truck after we ripped off all the molding, and put the new wheels and tires on. I wasn't thinking, sorry.)

MARSHMALLOW COUCH
This client wanted us to recreate the famous marshmallow couch by Nelson, he had three requests, we add an extra cushion to make it longer, make the circles slightly larger so they touch (making it more comfortable to sit on) and add white piping. We fabricated a frame from scratch and upholstered it as requested.

GRANDPA'S STOOL
For some people it is the small things they cherish, I had a buddy who loved his grandpas old stool, after he passed it was the only thing he wanted but it was in ROUGH shape and needed some love. He brought it by and asked us what we could do.
